Arsenal have re-signed Mathieu Flamini five years after the Frenchman left the club.
The 29-year-old made 153 appearances for the Gunners between 2004 and 2008 before heading to AC Milan for five years.
And having trained with Arsenal this summer after being released by the Italian giants at the end of last season, Arsene Wenger has decided to add the Frenchman to his squad.
Speaking to about the move, Wenger said: “We’re very pleased Mathieu has agreed to re-join us.
“He is a player of real quality, with a fantastic work rate and great mentality. As we know, Mathieu is a strong midfielder, but is also is comfortable playing in defence too. He is a very good addition to our squad.”
Flamini is only Arsenal’s second signing of the summer after Yaya Sanogo joined on a free in July.
