Real Madrid have prepared the Santiago Bernabéu directors’ box to unveil Gareth Bale, with the Welshman’s presentation probably taking place on Saturday,if his move to the La Liga outfit is confirmed. ‘Los Blancos’ have installed an enclosure that joins on to the directors’ box at the Bernabéu, and is used as the stage for the unveiling of big-name signings.
The image in this article was taken yesterday, friday (the video scoreboard shows the badge of Athletic Bilbao, Madrid’s La Liga opponents on Sunday) and it can be seen that the structure is ready to receive Bale. The club has installed fences to allow fans taking the stadium tour to walk around the ground, but prevent them from encroaching on the area in which the ceremony will take place.
Real began the construction of the enclosure last Friday in the hope of presenting Bale at the weekend, the player having travelled to Marbella. As the transfer saga surrounding the 24-year-old draws to a close, the directors’ box will see him be unveiled a week later than first planned.
